RESOLUTION NO. (N.C.S.)
A RESOLUTION OF THE SALINAS CITY COUNCIL APPROVING AN AGREEMENT WITH FUTURE CITIZENS FOUNDATION DBA THE FIRST TEE OF MONTEREY COUNTY RELATED TO THE TWIN CREEKS GOLF COURSE WHEREAS, the City owns the Twin Creeks Golf Course and in 2004 the City authorized a sublease between the City and the Future Citizens Foundation for the operations of Twin Creeks Golf Course and a Youth Golf Learning Center. In 2012, the Agreement was amended to reduce the rent. In 2015 the Agreement was amended again to reduce the rent again and extend the term for 10 years, with two 5-year options for a total of 20 years expiring on June 30, 2025; and WHEREAS, both Future Citizens Foundation and the City desire to enter into the attached Agreement to allow First Tee to continue to utilize the site.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Salinas City Council hereby finds and determines that the above recitals and accompanying Staff Report are true and correct and have served as the basis, in part, for the actions of the City Council set forth below; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT that the Mayor of Salinas be and is hereby authorized and directed, for and on behalf of the City of Salinas to execute the attached Agreement between the City of Salinas and Future Citizens Foundation, a California nonprofit corporation and licensee of the First Tee Division of the World Golf Foundation, dba The First Tee of Monterey County; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the City Council hereby determines that the proposed Agreement is Categorically Exempt pursuant to Public Resources Code 15301, as the Agreement does not propose any change of use or expansion of any existing use; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council authorizes the City Manager or his/her designee to take such other actions as may be necessary to execute such other documents as are appropriate to effectuate the intent of this Resolution.
