RESOLUTION NO. (N.C.S.)
RESOLUTION APPROVING A SPONSORSHIP CONTRIBUTION IN THE AMOUNT OF $100,000 TO COMPASS CHURCH FOR THE 2025 FOURTH OF JULY CELEBRATE AMERICA FIREWORKS EXTRAVAGANZA AND APPROVING A BUDGET ALLOCATION OF $100,000 FROM THE GENERAL FUNDS – FUND BALANCE WHEREAS, at its City Council meeting of July 1, 2025, the City Council directed the City Manager to identify a funding source to support a sponsorship contribution to Compass Church for the 2025 Celebrate America Fireworks Extravaganza in the amount of $100,000; and WHEREAS, the City Manager provided a report to City Council at its August 12, 2025 meeting identifying appropriate funding sources which included General Funds – Fund Balance, General Fund Contingency, or the Community Sponsorship Program; and WHEREAS, staff recommends the City Council approve a budget allocation of $100,000 from the General Funds – Fund Balance, thereby reducing available funding to start FY 2026-27.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Salinas City Council hereby approves a sponsorship contribution in the amount of $100,000 to Compass Church for the 2025 Fourth of July Celebrate America Fireworks Extravaganza and authorized a budget allocation of $100,000 from [funding source].
