RESOLUTION NO. _______ (N.C.S.)
A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE EAST SALINAS STREET SWEEPING PILOT PROJECT FOR MAINTENANCE AND RESPONSIBILITY WHEREAS, the City’s NPDES permit requires the implementation of “No Parking” street sweeping signage on high and medium priority streets; and WHEREAS, City staff identified an area with high priority streets for the implementation of “No Parking” street sweeping pilot project; and WHEREAS, on October 8, 2024, City Council approved a Resolution authorizing for the execution of an agreement with one of City’s On-call Class A Contractors following selection through a competitive process for the fabrication and implementation of “No Parking” signage in an amount not to exceed $600,000.00; and WHEREAS, City staff developed new street sweeping routes and signage plans where alternate sides of the streets are to be swept on different days of the week; and WHEREAS, on November 25, 2024, the City advertised for the acceptance of bids to the on-call Class A contractors; and WHEREAS, on December 9, 2024, the City opened bids and received one proposal from Teichert Construction in the amount of $511,600.00; and WHEREAS, on January 7, 2025, the City awarded a contract to Teichert Construction for the East Salinas Street Sweeping Pilot Project in the amount of $511,600.00; and WHEREAS, construction began on March 24, 2025, and was completed on April 3, 2025, within contract time; and WHEREAS, one contract change order was issued for this project, reducing the total project cost to $510,700.00; and WHEREAS, the project was determined exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Guidelines (Section 15301(c)).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Salinas City Council accepts the East Salinas Street Sweeping Pilot Project for maintenance and responsibility; and PASSED AND APPROVED this 12th day of August 2025 by the following vote:
