RESOLUTION NO. (N.C.S.)
A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE NATIVIDAD CREEK PARK RESTROOM REHABILITATION PROJECT NO. 9346 FOR MAINTENANCE AND RESPONSIBILITY WHEREAS, the Alisal Vibrancy Plan and Parks, Recreation and Libraries Master Plans identified the rehabilitation of the Natividad Creek Park restrooms as priority project for the community; and WHEREAS, Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) entitlement funds were allocated for this Project; and WHEREAS, the City awarded and terminated a contract to HA Construction due to significant delays, completed construction found to be below industry standards, labor compliance discrepancies, unauthorized subcontractors, and falsification of records; and WHEREAS, City hired WRD Architects to revise the plans and specifications for Natividad Creek Park Restroom Rehabilitation Project No. 9346 into a format ready to re-bid for construction; and WHEREAS, City Engineer approved the project plans and specifications and authorized the call to bids for this project with bid submittal date of June 10, 2025; and WHEREAS, On July 1, 2025, City Council approved Resolution No. 23297 awarding a contract to David Construction and Management, Inc. for the Natividad Creek Park Restroom Rehabilitation Project, CIP No. 9346 in the amount of $137,874; and WHEREAS, David Construction and Management, Inc. completed the project with a total of four change orders that summed to $74,324 for a total project cost of $212,198.; and WHEREAS, the project has been deemed substantially complete as of December 1, 2025.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Salinas City Council hereby accepts the Natividad Creek Park Restroom Rehabilitation Project No. 9346 for maintenance and responsibility.
