RESOLUTION NO. ____________ (N.C.S)
A RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONTRACT TO WALLACE GROUP FOR THE DESIGN AND RELATED SERVICES FOR THE BORONDA ROAD CONGESTION RELIEF PROJECT PHASE 2 (CIP 9510) WHEREAS, the Public Works department has identified the need to utilize professional engineering design services for the detailed design phase of the Boronda Road Congestion Relief Phase 2 Project; and WHEREAS, in December 2025 to January 2026, the City of Salinas engaged in a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) process to identify firms with the requisite qualifications to provide professional engineering design services; and WHEREAS, on January 15, 2026, Public Works staff received a statement of qualifications from Wallace Group; and WHEREAS, Wallace Group will be partnering with Kimley–Horn, Earth Systems Pacific, and EMC Planning to provide the full scope of services; and WHEREAS, Wallace Group is well qualified and have the expertise to provide the professional engineering design services.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Salinas City Council approves the Agreement between the City of Salinas and Wallace Group for the design and related services for the Boronda Road Congestion Relief Phase 2 Project for a total amount not to exceed $4,285,958; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed, for and on behalf of the City of Salinas, and as its act and deed, to execute the attached Professional Services Agreement; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is authorized to execute extensions and/or modifications to the Agreement and to take any additional action that may be necessary to effectuate the intent of this resolution.
