A RESOLUTION FOR APPOINTMENTS TO THE SALINAS VALLEY GROUNDWATER SUSTAINABILITY AGENCY BOARD OF DIRECTORS WHEREAS, the City of Salinas in accordance with the Salinas Valley Basin Groundwater Sustainability Agency (SVBGSA) JPA has responsibility for appointing a representative seat and an alternate to represent the City on the JPA Board of Directors; and WHEREAS, the primary Board member representing the City of Salinas is currently Councilmember Jose Luis Barajas and the alternate Board member Mayor Dennis Donohue; and WHEREAS, the afore mentioned appointments will expire on June 30, 2026 and thus must be reappointed; and WHEREAS, the Salinas City Council desires to appoint Mayor Dennis Donohue to serve on the JPA Board as the primary representative and Councilmember Jose Luis Barajas to serve as the alternate.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of Salinas that Mayor Dennis Donohue is hereby appointed as the Board member representing the City of Salinas and Councilmember Jose Luis Barajas is hereby appointed as the alternate Board member to the SVBGSA Board of Directors for the term commencing on July 1, 2026 and ending June 30, 2029.
