RESOLUTION NO.____________(N.C.S.)

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING DIRECT PURCHASE
OF NEW 2026 FORD TRANSIT CCTV VAN
WHEREAS, replacing aging vehicles within the City of Salinas’ vehicle fleet supports City’s Council’s Strategic Plan and Goals of “Infrastructure” by ensuring the Sewer Enterprise Division has reliable equipment to maintain and preserve the City’s wastewater collection system; and WHEREAS, the current City owned sewer CCTV van has surpassed its planned 20-year service life, and continued reliance on this aging vehicle increases the risk of costly mechanical failures, extended downtime, and disruptions to critical sewer maintenance operations; and WHEREAS, staff chose a 2026 Ford Transit CCTV van from Municipal Maintenance Equipment (MME) at a cost of $497,486.56 using Sourcewell Contract #0805251-RVL; and WHEREAS, funds have been budgeted for this vehicle’s replacement in the Sewer Maintenance operating budget for FY26/27. There will be no impact to the City’s General Fund since monies for the purchase are already allocated in the current Sewer Maintenance operating budget.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that pursuant to Salinas Municipal Code section 12-03.11 the Salinas City Council authorizes the Purchasing Agent to complete the direct purchase of a new 2026 Ford Transit CCTV from Municipal Maintenance equipment for a total cost of $497,486.56; PASSED AND APPROVED this 4th day of August 2026, by the following votes:
