RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION REJECTING ALL PROPOSALS RECEIVED FOR HAZARDOUS MATERIAL ABATEMENT AT THE FORMER POLICE DEPARTMENT BUILDING, CIP 9612.03 WHEREAS, on July 6, 2026, the City Engineer approved the specifications and authorized the call for bids with a bid submittal date of August 4, 2026; and WHEREAS, on August 4, 2026, at a public meeting held via Zoom meeting from City Hall, at Salinas, California, publicly opened and read all proposals delivered electronically via the PlanetBids website for the Hazardous Material Materials Abatement at the Former Police Department Building, CIP 9612.03; and WHEREAS, the City received two bids for the Hazardous Materials Abatement at the Former Police Department Building, CIP 9612.03, from Coastwide Environmental Tech, Inc., for a total bid of $547,354 and Disaster Kleenup Specialists, for a total bid of $3,775,436.57. Bids received were higher than the engineer’s estimate; and WHEREAS, staff recommend rejection of bids because both bidders failed to provide complete documentation as part of the bid and the 5-day documents, therefore disqualifying both bidders.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Salinas City Council hereby rejects all proposals received for the Hazardous Materials Abatement at the Former Police Department Building, 9612.03.
