Recommendation:
It is recommended that the Mayor and City Council of the City of San Bernardino, California, receive and file the San Bernardino Municipal Water Department’s audited Annual Comprehensive Financial Report for water and sewer utilities for Fiscal Year ended June 30, 2024.
Executive Summary
The purpose of this report is to file the Water Department’s Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2024, with the Mayor and City Council.
Background
Section 603(e) of the City of San Bernardino Charter requires that the Water Board provide for an “annual, independent audit of all water and wastewater accounts” and the “copies of all auditors’ reports shall be filed with the City Clerk and Council.” The audit firm Lance, Soll & Lunghard, LLP completed the Water Department’s annual audit and produced the attached Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) for Fiscal Year ended June 30, 2024. This report includes the financial statements, the Independent Auditor’s Report, Management’s Discussion and Analysis, as well as a statistical section containing historical information and data. The ACFR was presented to the City Water Board at its December 10, 2024, regular meeting, and it was approved unanimously.
