Why you want to serve on a city board or commission:
I have devoted my career to public service in San Bernardino and have been honored to work with the Mayor and City Council as a Water Board Commissioner for 26 years and as President since 2007. I appreciated the opportunity to also serve our City as past Chair of the Civil Service Commission and to serve our County as Chair Board(s), Commission(s), & Citizen Advisory Committeds) App. Page 1 of 3 Updated: August 29, 2018 What do you consider to be three (3) major assets that would qualify you for selection to this board, commission, or citizen advisory committee:
1. With twenty-six (26) years of service on the Water Board and seventeen (17) years as Water Board President, I have established an excellent knowledge base in dealing with water and recycled water issues. As Former Chair of the City's Civil Service Commission I am also uniquely qualified to continue to foster the positive relationship between the Mayor, City Council, and Water Board.
2. As former CEO of the American Red Cross Inland Empire Chapter, and from the various positions I have held throughout the City, 1 possess an extensive administrative and management background to help me continue leading the Water Department's ongoing collaboration with the Mayor and City Council, other water utilities, various public agencies, and most importantly our fellow residents. 3. As a 51 year resident of the City of San Bernardino, I remain committed to protecting our most important natural resource by serving on the Water Board. My employment began at the San Bernardino County Public Health Department, coordinating clinical services Empire chapter. Helping to promote higher education in our community, I also had the pleasure to serve as Special Projects Coordinator to the President at California State University, San Bernardino.
