Executive Summary
In 2024, the city initiated the relocation of the Main Data Center (MDC) from the outdated and vacant City Hall building at 300 E Street to a secure and reliable facility at 201 E Street. The relocation addressed pressing safety and reliability concerns posed by the aging infrastructure. The fiber expansion project is a critical component of this initiative, ensuring seamless connectivity between the city's facilities.

Background

To address this issue, the Council authorized the procurement of hardware to relocate the MDC to a more secure and dependable facility at 201 E Street.

In September 2024, the first phase of the fiber optic installation at the 201 E Street facility commenced. This phase provided upgraded connectivity to support the city’s evolving technological needs.
