Add the following bid item description to the Specifications:
BASE BID ITEM 57: FURNISH AND INSTALL NEW CONCRETE LIGHT POLES ON THE EXISTING
FOUNDATIONS, INCLUDING THE MAST ARM AND SOLAR LIGHTING FIXTURE, IN ACCORDANCE WITH
PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS
Provide and install new concrete light poles on the existing foundations, complete with mast arms and solar lighting fixtures, in accordance with the plans and specifications. The pole and its installation shall conform to City Standard Plan SL-1, and the solar fixture shall be the SOLTECH HYPER 65W or approved equal, meeting the required lumen output, battery capacity, and performance criteria shown on the manufacturer's data sheet. Contractor shall prepare the existing foundation as needed by digging & cleaning, brushing and aligning the anchor bolts as needed, install all new components, and ensure the complete assembly is properly mounted and fully operational.
Payment for this item will be made per Each pole (EA) and shall be considered as full compensation for furnishing all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and incidentals for doing all work involved in this bid item per project plans and specifications; no additional compensation will be allowed
BASE BID ITEM 58: REMOVE THE EXISTING STREETLIGHTS, FURNISH AND INSTALL NEW SOLAR LIGHTING
IN ACCORDANCE WITH PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS
Remove the existing streetlights and furnish and install new solar lighting in accordance with the plans and specifications. The new solar fixture shall be the SOLTECH HYPER 65W or approved equal and shall meet the required performance, lumen output, and battery capacity shown on the manufacturer's data sheet. Contractor shall remove all existing components as needed, install the new solar fixtures on the designated poles, and ensure the system is properly aligned, configured, and fully operational. the work also includes that the contractor shall fabricate and install galvanized steel handhole cover plates, secured with galvanized or stainless-steel screws, to properly close all open pole's handholes after completing the work.
Payment for this item will be made per Each pole (EA) and shall be considered as full compensation for furnishing all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and incidentals for doing all work involved in this bid item per project plans and specifications; no additional compensation will be allowed.
BASE BID ITEM 59: REMOVE AND DISPOSE THE EXISTING LIDS ON ALL ELECTRICAL PULL BOXES AND
CONSTRUCT NEW CONCRETE COVERS IN ACCORDANCE WITH PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS Remove and dispose the existing lids on all electrical pull boxes and construct new concrete covers in accordance with the plans, specifications, and the City of San Bernardino Anti- Vandalism Pull Box and Splice Detail. All new covers shall be built per the installation requirements shown in the attached detail, including patching and repairing the polymer concrete frame (ring), sand base, PCC thickness, and all notes and insulation methods indicated.
