The pur pose of the hearing is to
consider the following:
To con duct a pu blic hearing to
co ns ider adopti on of an ordinanc e
establishing pr ocedures to
exped ite permi tting for electric
vehi cle charging systems. The
propos ed ord inance would
establish a streamlined,
ad ministrative permitting pro ce ss
for electric vehicle char ging
sy stems. The ordinance is intended
to p romote the installation of
electric veh icle char ging
infras tructure by reducing
permitting barr iers, minimiz ing
co sts, an d providing for exp edited
review of qualifying ap plications.
The City C ou nc ilwill also consider
a d etermination that the ordinanc e
is exempt from the Califor nia
Enviro nmental Qual ity Ac t
(C EQA) purs uant to CE QA
Guid elines Section 15308 .
