Why you want to serve on a city board or commission:
I am submitting an application to serve on the Public Safety & Human Relations Commission for three reasons.
First, I am concerned about the readiness of San Bernardino and its residents for emergencies and disasters. The potential for disasters such as earthquakes and terrorist attacks is an important concern. Fires have had devastating effects on resident mortality and morbidity, property, and air quality. Having a sound plan in place and an educated, prepared population are key to saving lives and livelihoods. I want to help with the work being done to prepare our city and residents.
Second, I am encouraged by and appreciative of the excellent work being done by the police department and want Board(s), Commission(s), & Citizen Advisory Commitee(s) App. Page 1 of3 Updated: August 29, 2018 What do you consider to be three (3) major assets that would qualify you for selection to this board; commission, or citizen advisory committee:
1.I have the willingness to serve on the Public Safety & Human Relations Commission, patience, and excellent communication skills. My work experience included not only providing direct nursing care to patients and their families in the acute care hospital setting but also daily management of a busy critical care nursing unit and participating in collective bargaining processes to negotiate employment contracts. I served as project manager for the imnlementation of clinical information svstems. Lam active on professional nursing committees.
2. I am familiar with the types of laws that gover public safety. There are many laws, regulatory agency requirements, and professional standards that governed my work in critical care nursing. I received Hospital Emergency Incident Command System (HEICS) training annually at the hospital. The HEICS training helped to ensure that plans were in place for hospital personnel to respond to emergencies and disasters I chaired the committee to update the nursing unit policies and to develon new policies as needed. I understand the basics of

In addition, I have strong computer skills and use Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint for reports, documents, databases, and presentations regularly. I use Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Google Workspace for team project work.
