The Beautification Taskforce Committee was originally
established by our former Councilmember Irene
O'Connell.

It supports and advocates a public arts policy, tree
ordinances, and other Council policies that encourage
the beautification of the City. The Task Force also
organizes several City-wide events including Operation
Clean Sweep ( held the first Saturday in May each year) and the Beautification Awards. They also serve in an
advisory capacity to the City Council. That said, my
request to re-establish the Beautification Task Force
would be a continuation of how the committee was
structured.

THE GOALS OF THE BEAUTIFATION TASKFORCE
ARE:
• To educate the community about enhancing and
protecting San Bruno's environmental assets.
• To promote the quality of life in San Bruno by
creating, supporting, and participating in activities
and programs that improve the physical and
aesthetic environment of our community
• Advocate a high standard of community
responsibility, cleanliness, maintenance, and
attractiveness for our developed and natural
environment.
• Mentor neighborhood and citywide cleanups.

HOW CAN WE ACHIEVE THESE GOALS:
• Promote community activities like citywide
cleanups, Earth Day activities, Beautification
Awards, and similar programs.
• Community outreach to volunteer and or
participate in local activities.
• Encourage community members to be proactive on
monitoring neighborhood
• Install neighborhood street post signs of penal code
sections on illegal dumping, graffities, and littering.
