Subject: Public comment on 4/11/23 city council special meeting
Dear Mayor and Council Members,
I urge you to rethink charging for parking downtown. I think most people who go downtown drive there. I fear that instead of benefiting businesses by opening up parking spots it will harm businesses by driving shoppers to other businesses at Bayhill, Tanforan, and locations outside of San Bruno that offer free parking. It seems to make more sense to attract more pedestrians, cyclists, and transit riders to downtown and/or make it stand out more as a shopping destination before charging for parking.
