7 Ordinance Amending Section 2.04.110(b) of
the San Bruno Municipal Code Establishing
Procedures for Selection of Vice Mayor
CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING, Item 7a
May 9, 2023
Presenter: Lupita Huerta, City Clerk
Prepared by: Trisha Ortiz, City Attorney
OBJECTIVE
Consider Introduction of an Ordinance Amending the
Municipal Code Establishing Procedures for Selection of Vice Mayor
2 BACKGROUND
San Bruno Municipal Code Section 2.04.110(b) Selection of Vice Mayor
Current process provides rotation schedule ranked by time of service on council, with longest serving member at top of the rotation and newly elected members added at the bottom of list.
In the event there is more than one newly elected
member, Code provides names to be added in order
they appeared on the ballot
3 BACKGROUND, CONT .
On March 22, 2022, City Council established the City’s District Map and By-district Elections of Councilmembers.
The current rotational process will not work for selecting the order of two newly elected members.
4 DISCUSSION
Proposed Ordinance amends to the procedure for selection of Vice Mayor to be consistent with the City’s new By-district Election process.
Members would be appointed Vice Mayor on a rotational basis according to amount of time served on Council; however, amends the process for appointment when two members are elected at the same time.
Proposed ordinance provides that names of the members elected at the same time, will be added to the rotational order according to district number, in order of lowest to higher number.
5 TONIGHT’S RECOMMENDED
ACTION
Introduce, Read by Title Only and Waive Further Reading of an Ordinance of the San Bruno City Council Amending Section 204.110(b) of the San Bruno Municipal Code Establishing Procedures for Selection of Vice Mayor.

Highlights
Crestmoor Fields Master PlanCrestmoor Fields Master Plan ● Parking Management - Parking supply and demand will be the primary limiting factor in how many games can be scheduled. ● The intent is to provide for as many games as possible and avoid spillover impacts on the neighborhood.
● Field Lighting - Lighting allows greater use of the fields at a greater cost and with potential neighbor impacts.
● Natural or Artificial Turf - Artificial turf allows for greater use and for multiple sports at a higher initial cost. However, it also requires less maintenance, reduced down-time, and is more available during inclement weather.
