Subject: Fireworks
I surprised by the recent arƟcle in the Daily Journal regarding how much it costs the city to support fireworks being used in San Bruno.
With the budget so Ɵght, I feel that the funds would be beƩer spent on many needed projects throughout the city…restoring streetlights in Rollingwood that have been out for months and repairing pot holes to name just two.
There is also a safety issue. I know that people come here to set off illegal fireworks because they can claim to be using the “Safe and Sane”. I was told that two homes were damaged by fires caused by fireworks last year.
There is also the stress to people suffering from PTSD and pets.
There is a snack bar in the park that is rarely used. There are other ways to fund raise.
