Good evening Mayor, Councilmembers, and City Staff,

I’d like to share a quick recap of the San Bruno Improvement Group recent Easter event downtown, which was a huge success in bringing our community together in such a joyful and meaningful way.

Downtown was filled with smiling families, excited children, and neighbors connecting with one another.

Events like this are a reminder of the power of community, and how much our residents value opportunities to come together in a welcoming, festive space. Particularly the merchants enjoy the opportunity to engage with new faces.

I want to especially recognize the incredible musical performances from our local downtown music schools, community volunteers, downtown merchants, and raffle sponsors who made this event special— San Bruno Improvement Group, San Bruno Rotary Club, San Bruno Lions Club, Edgewood Drop-In Center, San Mateo Youth Leadership Institute, Artichoke Joe’s Casino, San Bruno Education Foundation, San Bruno K-9 Association, and the San Bruno Police Association. And most importantly, I want to express our gratitude to the San Bruno Community Foundation for their support—it truly made a difference and helped us to elevate this event.

Events like this don’t just bring joy—they build bonds, promote local business, and create the kind of connected, safe, and thriving downtown we all want to see. Centennial Plaza, in particular, proved to be a perfect, safe space where residents of all ages could connect and celebrate together.

I hope we can continue to create more of these moments, and I encourage us to explore more frequent downtown events that foster unity, support our small businesses, and celebrate the vibrant heart of San Bruno.

Thank you.
