Fiscal Impact: Yes. The estimated total construction cost of $95,500 is within the approved project budget of $187,997 available from the WRP / Sluice Gate Replacement, CIP Project No, 26212.
Summary: Staff recommends approval of a construction contract with Innovative Construction Solutions in the amount of $70,000 for the WRP / Sluice Gate Replacement.
Background: Water Reclamation Plant (WRP) has multiple sluice gates that have reached the end of their useful life due to corrosion and are need of replacement. Sluice gates are used to change or stop flows to various treatment processes throughout the WRP.
Recommended
A bid package for replacement of two sluice gates, including some mechanical and electrical components, was advertised for competitive bidding on the PlanetBids website. Nine bids were received on January 1, 2022, ranging from $70,000 to $328,629, as shown on Attachment 2. The lowest responsive bidder was Innovative Construction Solutions of Costa Mesa, California at $70,000.
Based on the low bid, construction costs are estimated as follows:
