RESOLUTION NO. 23-27
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN CLEMENTE, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING EXCLUSIVE NEGOTIATIONS WITH SALTY TURF LLC FOR THE DEVELOPMENT AND LEASE OF CITY PROPERTY AT 987 AVENIDA VISTA HERMOSA WHEREAS, the City owns the parcel located at 987 Avenida Vista Hermosa, San Clemente, CA 92673, known as the Vista Hermosa Sports Park (“Park”); and WHEREAS, the Vista Hermosa Park Master Plan designated lease land at the park to allow for private recreational offerings; and WHEREAS, the City envisions this land as an ideal location for a multi-generational recreation activity that can complement the existing activities within the Park and perpetuate the future uncompleted phases of park development; and WHEREAS, on December 19, 2022, the City issued a competitive Request for Proposals to solicit offers for the development of this land; and WHEREAS, the City received one qualified proposal from Salty Turf, LLC (“Developer”) that provided for a 36-hole mini golf facility open to all ages; and WHEREAS, the City desires to enter into a period of negotiations over the project, under specific circumstances to allow for the best use of the property.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Clemente does hereby resolve as follows:
Section 1. The City Manager, or his/her designee, is hereby authorized to negotiate with Salty Turf, LLC for purposes of discussing terms and conditions of a development and lease agreement for the Vista Hermosa Sports Park designated lease land.
Section 2. The exclusive negotiating period will be for three months from the date of this Resolution, with an option to extend the said period for an additional six months at the discretion of the City Manager, or his/her designee.
Section 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution and enter it into the book of original resolutions.
