2. How long have you lived in San Clemente? Just over 2 years. --- ------ -------- ---- -----

3. What is your occupation? Digital Media Content Manager at VIZIO

4. Please explain why you would like to serve on the Planning Commission.

5. As a San Clemente city council candidate this past election, I've held a profound interest in keeping San Clemente's reputation as one of the best places in the world to live and work. This role would allow me to contribute directly to the decision-making process and make a positive impact on the development and growth of our city. My extensive background in design would enable me to recommend policies related to land use, zoning regulations, urban development, and overall community design.

Please explain how your background and experience would contribute to the Planning Commission.

I studied design and digital media, which led to significant involvement in creative endeavors ranging from largescale art installations, incorporating-the latest digital technologies, to general creative direction. I have a solid understanding and detailed vision for San Clemente that aligns with the vital quality of life standards historically established by Ole Hanson. I see both the Downtown and North Beach areas primed for growth and I'd like to put an end to the costly delays & underutilized eyesores, stemming from many of our currently incomplete largescale commercial projects.

I'd like to work with consultants, contractors, and developers to ensure that the Miramar Food-hall / venue, local medical facilities, and new hotels are completed ASAP. There are currently too many commercial vacancies, delayed developments and unfulfilled spaces, which are all causing San Clemente to lose out on local economic value.

I'd like all generations to have creative, cultural and recreational events on any given weekend, while still striking a balance of quiet, scenic, and walkable residential spaces.

6. What is your educational background?
High School/Colleges Attended Major Field of Study Degree? Agoura High School Diploma
Santa Monica College Liberal Arts A.A.

University of California, Los Angeles Design I Media Arts B.A.

7. In your opinion, what are the three top qualities of San Clemente that should remain unchanged for future generations?

1. Preservation of the Spanish / Ole Hanson heritage and maintaing this unique Californian architectural style throughout San Clemente. Cherishing the history of our city.

2. Protecting our world-class beaches and fighting on-going environmental effects. Promoting and advising on environmental sustainability. Related to our beaches, maintaining our cultural heritage as a surfing destination.

3. Protecting our world-class beaches and fighting on-going environmental effects. Promoting and advising on environmental sustainability. Related to our beaches, maintaining our cultural heritage as a surfing destination.

8. In your opinion, what are three characteristics of San Clemente that are most in need of correction?

9. 10.

1. Red-tape. delays in building permits. under-staffing, and all the factors contributing to various commercial developments from being completed. Our city will be more financially solvent if we can have more opportunities for commerce

2. San Clemente is a safe city, but a close eye on crime and homelessness, need to be improved in conjunction with law enforcement. Part of this obstacle 1s the need for more affordable housing 1n the South 0.C. area. We also need a long-term vision for expanding parking/ transportation throughout the city.

3. Funds and staff need to be dedicated to fighting the effects of erosion, water conservation, and sand replenishment.

San Clemente needs to get ahead of the curve in fighting these environmental concerns.

Please explain any experience that you have had in community, governmental, charitable or educational affairs.

As mentioned, I ran for City Council this past election cycle, which immediately got me up to speed on many of San Clemente's more pressing concerns. From a more professional perspective, I've worked for the official film office of the Greater Los Angeles area, FilmLA, for over 6 years, where I dealt directly with film permits, contracted city clients, and community outreach to residents affected by the impacts of production.

Locally to San Clemente, I volunteer with the Cabrillo Playhouse in designing the promotional artwork for their whole slate of theatrical productions.

Currently, I'm in touch with a local commercial real estate developer on some ideas to improve the North Beach area, as well as working on re-imagining the Knuckleheads venue with an associated colleague.

Please describe your ideal vision for San Clemente's future (as it pertains to growth and development).

I've highlighted the topic of redevelopment in some of my other responses, but essentially, I'd like to see San Clemente become more of a cultural destination, where locals don't have to rely on driving to surrounding cities for leisure, creative outlets, and inspiration.

We are sorely .in need of some new commercial establishments to give our youth entertainment, which will help not only stimulate our local commerce, but to also keep people out of trouble.

I'd like to see more live music opportunities, art exhibitions, and a celebration of the Spanish roots that makes San Clemente so scenic.

One example, the Redo Market, which takes place in Dana Point, is the perfect type of hip event that could take place in San Clemente instead. Furthermore, the tenants and format of the planned Miramar Food Hall should be more like the Lab / CAMP in Costa Mesa.

11. The Planning Commission meets on the Wednesday following the City Council's Regular meeting at 6:00 p.m. Please explain any challenges, if any, you may have in meeting this commitment.

12. 13.

14. No challenges. I'll accomodate my schedule as needed.

If you could influence the City of San Clemente in just one way, what would that be? To complete the incomplete developments. Accordingly, we need to fill the empty commercial vacancies / eyesores throughout the city.

Do you have any experience with historic preservation or architectural history? If so, please explain:

Via my education in Design, I'm quite familiar with architectural history, trends, and eras. My father also works in a construction-related industry, so I do have some familiarity.

Please use the space below to explain any other factors about yourself that you would like for the Council members to consider as they review your application.

I'm applying for a role in the Human Affairs Commission as well, which would also be a great role for me to stay involved with our incredible city. However, until an arts or amphitheater committee is created, I feel that this Planning Commission is likely the most effective fit for my experience.
