Served as Chairperson for the past two years
Helped to incorporate resident ideas and concerns into a balanced final draft for the " Five Parks Master :Plan" .
Lead the development of the Funding and Foundations sub-committee for BPRC. This sub-committee has !been working on funding for the 5 parks masterplan by ... -Increasing funding streams through local 501c3 support (Friends of SC & Pierpride) -Increase donations from corporate giving programs and sponsorships. -Exploring additional revenue streams to augment city budget. .
Serving as the BPRC liaison to Friends of San Clemente BP&R 501c3
5. Please explain how your background and experience would contribute to the Beaches, Parks and Recreation Commission.
I have worked for a number of parks and recreation programs in the past, to include Arrowhead Lake !Association and San Bernardino County Parks. This has given me experience in ideating and implementing program offerings that increase a sense of community involvement and inclusion and lead to increased utilization of precious outdoor resources. As a current BP&R commissioner, I enjoy making myself available to hear all stakeholders and working to find compromises between conflicting interests.
6. Please explain any expertise that you may have in the area of ocean water quality and/or beach environmental stewardship.
I have been read in on water quality at San Clemente beaches for a couple years and understand the 1 •easons behind scores from Heal the Bay and what efforts are being. made by the city to address issues and ensure healthy scores. I have scientific background in environmental biology including participating in estuarian and cornerstone ocean species studies. In addition, I regularly do beach clean-up walks and remove fishing line from the pier area on behalf of Pierpride and volunteer with Friends of San Clemente Beaches Parks & Recreation.

Please explain any experience that you have in community, governmental, charitable or educational affairs. - I currently serve as Chairperson for the BPRC (two years). -I have been nominated and voted irr as the BPRC liaison for Friends of San Clemente BP&R -I have been voted in as an acting boardmember on Friends of BPRC -I regularly donate to the following local 501 c3's, Pierpride, Friends of SC BP&R, Leashes of Love and the SC/Dana Point Shelter
-I regularly listen in to CC meetings and attend when items regarding BP&R are on the agenda.
The Beaches, Parks and Recreation Commission meets on the second Tuesday in February, April, June, Aug11St, October and December at 6:00 pm. Please explain any challenges, if any, you may have in meeting this commitment.
I have been able to meet the attendance requirements for BPRC for the past two years and don't foresee any upcoming issues that would change my availability.
Please describe your views on the Quality of City beaches and parks, including any steps you feel should be taken for improvement.
Some of our parks are a little behind maintenance schedules due in part by COVID, this is catching up however. The BP&R division has worked with the commission to develop a 5 parks master plan to update and upgrade 5 parks in SC. I have been excited working on that plao and would like to continue being involved in ensuring that San Clemente has numerous and varied park and outdoor recreation areas that we can enjoy and be proud of.

Serving in the capacity that we do is not always easy- I strive to consider all opinions that are presented at meetings, via email and in person regarding commission recommendations by other commissioners and esident stakeholders.
