I have been a citizrn ,, a volunteer, and a donor to various organizations in San Clemente since 1980.
I have always felt c n obligation to give back to the community. I feel like I have a lot to give to help people in need in San Cle T,e:ite.
5. Please explain how your background and experience would contribute to the Human Affairs Committee.

My 31 years of bein{J on the Boys and Girls Club board in San Clemente helped me to recognize the need to help people

As a FAM board member, board Chairman for three years, and a volunteer in the warehouse, I have literally worked with and f0r people living with substandard food and housing needs. 94% of the clients that FAM serves are houseo. needing food, rental assistance, and case management to prevent them from becoming homeless

10 year Board Member and 3 year Chairman of the Board of Family Assistance Ministries Elder, San Clemente Presbyterian Church
Started and rari for 20 years Boys and Gins Club golf Tournament, started and ran for 3 years the Mary Erickson golf Tournament, started and ran for 3 years the Beachs and Parks Golf Tournament
9. The Human Affairs Committee meets on a regular basis on the second Tuesday of every other even month at 3:00 p.m. Please explain any challenges, if any, you may have in meeting this commitment.

10. Considering the City's limited financial resources, please describe your views on how the City can address human needs in the community.
No one wants a shelter in their neighborhoods• that is a given, but the city should be actively looking for a regional shelter in coordination with at least San Juan Capistrano and Dana Point.
Help the city research and find applicable county, state and federal grants to resolve some of these human affairs issues
11. Please describe your understanding of the principal roles and responsibilities of t he Human Affairs Committee.
Work to come up with viable solutions for helping people in San Clemente avoid and/or get out of homelessness.
Work to help the quiet but so needy seniors in our community
12. Please use the space below to explain any other factors about yourself that you would like for the Councilmembers to consider as they review your application.
Not one currently serving member of the Human Affairs committee, that I know of, has toured or asked for information about how FAM serves the San Clemente community. As point of fact, there are various members of the committee that don't understand FAM's operations and mission. I would welcome working with them to address the needs in our community.
