ESTABLISHMENT OF A CITIZENS SUBCOMMITTEE TO FURTHER ANALYZE THE FEASIBILITY OF AN AMPHITHEATER (Agendized by Council at the August 16, 2022 City Council Meeting.) Fiscal Impact:

Summary:
At its meeting of August 16, 2022, Council voted 4-1 to establish a Citizens Committee, with each Councilmember appointing one member, to further analyze the feasibility of an amphitheater. This report provides two options for Council to establish the committee:
1. In order to form the subcommittee, Council can direct the City Clerk to advertise and accept applications to fill five vacancies on the newly formed Amphitheater Citizens Committee, and schedule a meeting for Council to interview and appoint five Committee members.
2. Alternatively, Council may determine to each provide a recommended candidate to the Legislative Administrator to create the newly formed Amphitheater Citizens Committee.
The City Council would manage the Citizens Amphitheater Committee to ensure the committee’s work aligns with specific Council goals; no staff time would be used for the committee.
Recommended Actions:
Staff Recommendation
1. Staff Recommends that Council Take one of the following actions:
a. Authorize the Legislative Administrator to advertise to fill 5 vacancies on the newly formed Amphitheater Citizens Committee and schedule a meeting to interview and appoint five committee members.
OR
b. Determine to have each Councilmember provide a recommended candidate to the Legislative Administrator to create the newly formed Amphitheater Citizens Committee.
