Description of Request
Request for replacement of the Valve Exercise Unit attached to the existing Utilities Valve Exercising Truck. The Valve Exercise Unit includes a pressure washer, vacuum unit, and a hydraulic valve exerciser. All three components are mounted on a single skid (a metal pallet) then mounted onto the flat bed of an existing truck.

Service Level Impact (Describe)
The new Valve Exercise Unit would enable the Utilities Department to effectively exercise water and recycled water system valves to ensure proper operation.
Justification and Additional Comments
The replacement Valve Exercise Unit increases efficiency and productivity to service valves in the field for water leaks and small wash downs to clean up after repairs are made. The current Valve Exerciser is approximately 16 years old, is no longer functioning properly, and has reached the end of its useful life. The use of this piece of equipment is needed on a daily basis to assist the City in meeting state recommendations to exercise every valve on a two year basis.
