RESOLUTION NO. 24-36
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN CLEMENTE, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING AND HONORING THE 2023 WALL OF RECOGNITION NOMINEE WHEREAS, in 1994, the City Council approved the establishment of the “Wall of Recognition” (“WOR”) designed to honor individuals who have dedicated their time to improving the quality of life for the residents and visitors of San Clemente; and WHEREAS, the program is guided by Policy No. 103-2-1; and WHEREAS, per policy, nominations are open annually for a pre-determined period, allowing for local service organizations and groups of community members, alike, to submit citizen nominations; and WHEREAS, the WOR Committee, comprised of a representative from the City Council, Beaches, Parks and Recreation Commission, Human Affairs Committee, and past recipients of this prestigious award met on December 15, 2023 to review the nominations and provide a recommendation for a new recipient; and WHEREAS, atits selection meeting, the WOR Committee unanimously agreed to recommend Beth Apodaca as the 2023 Wall of Recognition honoree based on her commitment to several service organizations in the community, acting in many capacities both as a volunteer and a board member in many cases. Beth Apodaca has organized, volunteered, and assisted with major fundraising activities directly benefitting our youth, seniors, and families through the organizations she has been affiliated with in San Clemente throughout the years.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Clemente does hereby resolve as follows:
Section 1. That the foregoing recitals shall be and are hereby fully incorporated into this Section 1 as if said recitals were fully set forth herein.
Section 2. That Beth Apodaca is hereby approved as the 2023 Wall of Recognition honoree.
Section 3. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to present Beth Apodaca with a certificate of recognition as the 2023 Wall of Recognition honoree.
Section 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution and enter it into the book of original resolutions.
