RESOLUTION NO. 24-65
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN CLEMENTE, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING THE 2024 DONATION FROM THE FRIENDS OF SAN CLEMENTE BEACHES, PARKS & RECREATION FOUNDATION WHEREAS, the Friends of San Clemente Beaches, Parks and Recreation Foundation (“Friends”), a non-profit 501c3, was formed in 2000 to support the City of San Clemente Beaches, Parks and Recreation Department’s efforts in providing quality programs and services; and WHEREAS, since 2014, the City Council has supported a formal partnership agreement between the City and Friends. Part of this agreement requires that the Friends donate a minimum of 75% of its total annual net profits, or a minimum of $30,000 per year to the City in order to receive fee waivers and staff support; and WHEREAS, this contribution will greatly benefit our community by providing resources for the improvement of recreational opportunities and community access.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Clemente does hereby resolve as follows:
Section 1. The City Council gratefully accepts the 2024 donation of $57,450 from the Friends.
Section 2. The allocated funds shall be utilized to organize and execute diverse events, enhance existing programs, and provide scholarships to deserving families and individuals within the San Clemente community.
Section 3. The Beaches, Parks and Recreation Department is hereby authorized to oversee the distribution and utilization of these funds in alignment with the goals and objectives set forth by the City Council.
Section 4. The City Council extends its sincere appreciation to the Friends for their generous contribution and commitment to enriching the lives of our citizens.
Section 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution and enter it into the book of original resolutions.
