RESOLUTION NO. 24-202
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN CLEMENTE, CALIFORNIA, AWARDING THREE-YEAR AGREEMENTS WITH TWO OPTIONAL ONE-YEAR EXTENSIONS TO COX BUSINESS SERVICES FOR TELECOMMUNICATION SERVICES AT MULTIPLE CITY FACILITIES AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENTS WHEREAS, the City of San Clemente currently utilizes telecommunication services for high-speed network connectivity between City facilities and Internet access; and WHEREAS, in accordance with City Purchasing Policy 201-2-1, City staff published a Request for Proposals (RFP) for WAN Telecommunications and Internet Services on November 5, 2024; and WHEREAS, the City received proposals from three firms, one of which was incomplete and therefore non-responsive; and WHEREAS, City staff thoroughly reviewed the proposals and determined that Cox Business provided the best solution for the City and its cost, which was the lowest of the responsive proposals, is fair and reasonable.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Clemente does hereby find, determine and resolve as follows:
SECTION 1. That the above recitations are true and correct and incorporated fully herein.
SECTION 2. That Commercial Services Agreements for the purchase of Telecommunications Services including Metropolitan Area Network Ethernet, Internet, and PEG Channel Transport Services are hereby awarded to Cox Business Services in an amount not to exceed $85,659, for a term of three years with two optional one-year extensions.
SECTION 3. That the City Manager is authorized to execute Commercial Services Agreements with Cox Business for the purchase of Telecommunication Services including Metropolitan Area Network Ethernet, Internet, and PEG Channel Transport Services in a total amount not to exceed $85,659, for a term of three years with two optional one-year extensions.
SECTION 4. That the City Manager is authorized and directed to execute Commercial Services Agreements with Cox Business for the purchase of Telecommunications Services including Metropolitan Area Network Ethernet, Internet, and PEG Channel Transport Services in a total amount not to exceed $85,659, for a term of three years with two optional one-year extensions, in forms substantially similar to the sample provided to the City Council on December 10, 2024.
SECTION 5. That the City Manager is authorized and directed to execute such other documents and take such other and further actions as may be necessary and proper to accomplish the purposes of this resolution.
SECTION 6. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution and enter it into the book of original resolutions.
