My understanding is our beach church special events permit for 2025 has een denied after decades of having our worship services at North beack on Sunday morning. I am asking for a review of the denial, with approval, so we can continue our history of worship on the beach every Sunday morning in San Clemente.
Christ Lutheran Church has been worshiping at North Beach for greater than 30 years paying permit fees to the city of San Clemente. Our service is inclusive and no one is turned away. We provide community at North Beach on Sunday mornings.
I am writing to you today requesting approval for Christ Lutheran Church to continue our worship services at North Beach from 8a to 9a on Sunday mornings in 2025.
This has been our practice and tradition for over 30 years. We are a welcoming and inclusive church in San Clemente. We are part of the North Beach Community.
Our beach service at 8a is loved by our church members; an important part of our identity and ministry in San Clemente. It would be a huge loss for our church if we are not permitted to meet for worship on Sunday mornings at North Beach. We welcome tourists seeking a Sunday worship service while in San Clemente. We welcome homeless individuals and families at our Sunday morning beach service. Christ Lutheran Church welcomes all who are seeking God's love and grace.
