RESOLUTION NO. 25-33
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN CLEMENTE, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THREE SEPARATE PROFESSIONAL CONSULTING SERVICES AGREEMENTS FOR AS-NEEDED GEOTECHNICAL PLAN REVIEW SERVICES AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE THREE-YEAR CONTRACTS, TWO IN AMOUNTS NOT TO EXCEED $80,000 PER YEAR AND ONE IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $30,000 PER YEAR WHEREAS, the Engineering Division requires outside plan review services to augment City staff; and WHEREAS, a request for proposals was prepared for on-call (as-needed) geotechnical plan review services and seven (7) responsive proposals were received; and WHEREAS, after evaluation of the proposals received and interviews of leading firms, LGC Geotechnical, Inc., GMU Geotechnical, Inc. and Verdantas, Inc. have submitted the best proposals, are the most qualified companies to perform the services needed, and have prices that are fair and reasonable; and WHEREAS, utilizing multiple companies for on-call (as-needed) plan review services allows flexibility to ensure expected deadlines and turnaround times are met as the workload fluctuates and is in the best interests of the City and the public.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Clemente does hereby find, determine, and resolve as follows:
Section 1. That the above recitals are true and correct and incorporated herein fully by reference.
Section 2. That professional services agreements for on-call (as-needed) geotechnical plan review services are hereby awarded to LGC Geotechnical, Inc., GMU Geotechnical, Inc., and Verdantas, Inc.
Section 3. That the City Manager is authorized and directed to execute a professional services agreement with LGC Geotechnical, Inc. for a term of three years with two optional additional 1-year extensions in an amount not to exceed $80,000 annually in a form substantially similar to that presented to City Council on March 18, 2025.
Section 4. That the City Manager is authorized and directed to execute a professional services agreement with GMU Geotechnical, Inc. for a term of three years with two optional additional 1-year extensions in an amount not to exceed $80,000 annually in a form substantially similar to that presented to City Council on March 18, 2025.
Section 5. That the City Manager is authorized and directed to execute a professional services agreement with Verdantas, Inc. for a term of three years with two optional additional 1-year extensions in an amount not to exceed $30,000 annually in a form substantially similar to that presented to City Council on March 18, 2025.
Section 6. That the City Manager or his designee are authorized and directed to take such other and further actions as may be necessary and proper to fulfill the purposes of this resolution.
Section 7. That the City Clerk shall certify the passage and adoption of this resolution and enter it into the book of original resolutions.
