RESOLUTION NO. 25-69
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN CLEMENTE, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING A DONATION FROM THE FRIENDS OF SAN CLEMENTE BEACHES, PARKS & RECREATION FOUNDATION IN SUPPORT OF RECREATION EVENTS, PROGRAMS, AND SCHOLARSHIPS FOR THE 2025 CALENDAR YEAR WHEREAS, the Friends of San Clemente Beaches, Parks & Recreation Foundation ("Friends Foundation") is a recognized nonprofit organization and long-standing community partner committed to enhancing the quality of life in San Clemente through support of public recreation programs and services; and WHEREAS, on April 14, 2025, the City submitted its 2025 Request for Funding and Support (“Funding Request”) to the Friends Foundation; and WHEREAS, the Friends Foundation has generously pledged a donation in the amount of $56,595 to the City of San Clemente for the 2025 calendar year; and WHEREAS, this donation is intended to support community recreation events, youth and adult scholarships, and recreational programming offered by the City's Beaches, Parks & Recreation Department; and WHEREAS, acceptance of this donation aligns with the City’s strategic goals of promoting community well-being, expanding access to recreation, and supporting youth development.
NOW, THEREFORE, The City Council of the City of San Clemente does hereby resolve as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Council formally accepts the donation of $56,595 from the Friends of San Clemente Beaches, Parks & Recreation Foundation. In doing so, the Council expresses its sincere gratitude to the Friends Foundation for its continued commitment to the San Clemente community and partnership with the City.
SECTION 2. The Beaches, Parks and Recreation Director is authorized and directed to disperse such donated funds in support of City recreation events, programs, and scholarships in 2025 in substantial accordance with the Funding Request presented to the City Council on May 6, 2025.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution and enter it into the book of original resolutions.
