CALL TO ORDER
Chair Berkuta called the Regular Meeting of the Public Safety Committee of the City of San Clemente to order at 3:02 p.m.

MOTION BY VICE CHAIR GREENWALD, SECOND BY MEMBER RHODEN, AND CARRIED 3-0-1, MEMBER HAZELTON ABSENT, to approve the minutes as amended.

REVEWS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
A. Park Rangers Performance Measures FY2025 Q2
Park Ranger Supervisor Milosch presented the Performance Measures.
In response to Committee questions, Supervisor Milosch explained efforts for education and compliance; storage of personal property; examples of types of tickets; process following issuance of violations; and equipment needs.
The Committee commended the Park Ranger program.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS
A. Public Safety Committee Annual Work Plan FY2024-2025 (1) Communications and Disaster Preparedness Project Update Community Development Director Atamian discussed the Emergency Management Specialist position.
Emergency Management Specialist Rachel Perez introduced herself.
Councilmember Rick Loeffler thanked Chair Berkuta for his service. (2) Homelessness and Best Management Practices for Public Safety Personnel Project Update
None.
(3) Neighborhood Watch
Vice Chair Greenwald requested staff ensure funds were available to purchase giveaways for an upcoming October outreach event.

A. Police Services - Orange County Sheriff's Department Capt. Chevalier None.
B. Fire Services - Orange County Fire Authority, Chief Maule None.
C. Marine Safety - Marine Safety Division Chief Mellott Chief Mellott provided an overview of Summer operations; recent statistics; notable incidents; trainings; special events and beach contract classes. He thanked the Committee members for their service.
D. Committee Chair
Chair Berkuta provided an overview of the Public Safety Committee actions and accomplishments.

MOTION BY CHAIR BERKUTA, SECOND BY VICE CHAIR GREENWALD, AND CARRIED 3-0-1, MEMBER HAZELTON ABSENT, to adjourn the meeting at 3:44 p.m.
Pursuant to City Council action, the Public Safety Committee will terminate on June 24th, 2025.
