RESOLUTION NO. 25-126
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN CLEMENTE, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE FIRST CONTRACT AMENDMENT WITH THE COUNTY OF ORANGE FOR POLICE SERVICES FOR FY 2025-26 AND AUTHORIZING A SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATION FROM THE GENERAL FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $37,788 WHEREAS, on June 3, 2025, the City Council authorized and directed the City Manager to execute the FY 2025-26 Police Services Agreement with the County of Orange, for a total maximum contractual obligation of $22,690,270; and WHEREAS, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department has requested replacement of two all-terrain vehicles and one trailer at a cost of $37,788 to be owned and maintained by the County of Orange to replace assets that are at the end of their useful lives; and WHEREAS, the County of Orange Police Services Agreement requires an amendment for any increases to the maximum contractual obligation; and WHEREAS, entering into the contract amendment with the County of Orange for police services is in the public’s best interest and is necessary for public safety and welfare.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Clemente does hereby resolve as follows:
SECTION 1. That the above recitations are true and correct and incorporated herein.
SECTION 2. That the City Council hereby approves the First Amendment to the Police Services Agreement with the County of Orange, for a total contract maximum obligation of $22,728,058.
SECTION 3. That the City Council hereby authorizes and directs the City Manager to execute the First Amendment to the Police Services Agreement in substantially the same form presented to City Council on August 19, 2025.
SECTION 4. That the City Council hereby approves and authorizes a supplemental appropriation from the General Fund unassigned fund balance in the amount of $37,788 to account 001-218-43625 (Police Contract Services).
SECTION 5. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution and enter it into the book of original resolutions.
