RESOLUTION NO. 25-147
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN CLEMENTE, CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING A REVISED FEE SCHEDULE FOR VEHICLE CHARGING STATIONS WHEREAS, the City received Mobile Source Pollution Reduction Committee (MSRC) grant funds and California Energy Commission (CEC) rebate funds for the purchase and installation of four (4) electric vehicles (EV) charging stations for use by public and City vehicles; and WHEREAS, on January 15, 2019, City Council adopted resolution No. 19-30 establishing a fee schedule for electric vehicle charging stations; and WHEREAS, the City desires to proactively adjust fees to recover the costs of providing the electric vehicle charging station services; and NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Clemente does hereby find, determine and resolve as follows:
SECTION 1. That the above recitations are true and correct and incorporated fully herein.
SECTION 2. That Resolution 19-30 and any other resolution in conflict herewith are hereby repealed and of no further force or effect.
SECTION 3. That the City Council hereby establishes the following pricing structure for the electric vehicle charging stations:
Level 2 Chargers
Energy Cost: $0.49
Parking Fee: First 3 Hours free, then $5.00 per hour
Ultra-Fast Level 3 DC Chargers
Energy Costs:$0.49 per kWh
Parking Fee: First hour free, then $5.00 per hour
SECTION 4. That the adopted fees are less than or equal to the estimated cost of providing the service for which the fee or service charge is levied and are hereby approved and established.
SECTION 5. That City staff is authorized and directed to take such other and further actions as are necessary and proper to accomplish the purposes of this resolution.
SECTION 6. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution and enter it into the book of original resolutions.
