RESOLUTION NO. 26-33
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN CLEMENTE, CALIFORNIA, A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN CLEMENTE, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING A FEE WAIVER FOR USE OF THE SAN CLEMENTE AQUATIC CENTER BY SAN CLEMENTE HIGH SCHOOL FOR SPRING SWIM TEAM PRACTICES WHEREAS, San Clemente High School has requested temporary use of the San Clemente Aquatic Center for swim team practices between March and May 2026 due to limited availability and condition issues at the high school pool; and WHEREAS, City staff has reviewed the request and determined the use can be accommodated without displacing core public programming; and WHEREAS, the estimated value of the requested facility use fees is $5,608.00, which exceeds the City Manager’s fee waiver authority and therefore requires City Council approval; and WHEREAS, the request consistent with City Council Policy No. 702-9 (Aquatics Partnership Policy) and Policy No. 201-15 (Cost Recovery Policy) and is in the best interests of the City and the community.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Clemente does hereby find, determine and resolve as follows:
SECTION 1. The above recitals are true and correct and incorporated fully herein as findings.
SECTION 2. The City Council hereby approves a one-time fee waiver in the amount of $5,608.00 for use of the San Clemente Aquatic Center by the San Clemente High School swim team for spring practice sessions occurring between March and May 2026, subject to coordination with City staff and facility availability.
SECTION 3. This approval is limited to the dates and times reviewed by staff and does not establish a precedent for future fee waivers.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution and enter it into the book of original resolutions.
