Thanks in advance for forwarding this letter of support for the Hanson Hotel project to all City Council members, hearing slated for this coming April 21st.
As a longstanding business and pioneer in the rebirth of the historic North Beach area, our Casino San Clemente event center has long awaited a complimentary use on the vacant corner of Pico and ECR. That corner has only been a magnet for vagrancy, vandalism and in season, the blot of political signs on the chain link fence.
With the opening of the Miramar to Wedgewood, the City of San Clemente has the potential to welcome even more first time visitors and with the Hanson Hotel, would have additional potential for these visitors to stay locally and further explore this historic seaside village.
As a designer/developer ourselves, we can empathize with the time, monies and investment to date this owner has devoted with a responsible, esthetically beautiful and complimentary offering to this City. We hope the powers that be appreciate the still long road ahead in development and City processes to realize this project. We commend the owners for their foresight and vision.
We wholeheartedly support this beautiful and complimentary addition to North Beach. It will benefit us all.
