RESOLUTION NO. 26-119
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN CLEMENTE, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH THE COUNTY OF ORANGE FOR POLICE SERVICES FOR FY 2026-27 WHEREAS, the City Council held a public budget workshop on May 26, 2026 and discussed police service levels for the FY 2026-27 and FY 2027-28 agreements; and WHEREAS, the City Council held a public hearing on the proposed 2026-27 and 2027-28 budget on June 2, 2026; and WHEREAS, on June 2, 2026, the City Council adopted the budget for FY 2026-27 and FY 2027-28, which included funding for the police services agreement; and WHEREAS, entering into a contract with the County of Orange for police services for FY 2026-27 is in the public’s interest and is necessary for public safety and welfare.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Clemente does hereby resolve as follows:
SECTION 1. That the above recitations are true and correct and incorporated herein.
SECTION 2. That the City Council hereby approves the contract with the County of Orange for police services for FY 2026-27.
SECTION 3. That the City Council hereby authorizes and directs the City Manager to execute the police services contract with the County of Orange, for a total contract maximum obligation of $22,699,486 in substantially the same form presented to City Council on June 16, 2026.
SECTION 4. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution and enter it into the book of original resolutions.
