Introduction
Nanonation has prepared the following Statement of Work (SOW) to provide you with details on the implementation of the new Interactive Touchscreen Application Product called the Digital Posting Board. This SOW is designed to outline the scope work, related pricing, and authorize Nanonation to proceed with the work outlined herein. This SOW does not supersede any license or professional service agreements between Nanonation and the City of San Clemente unless otherwise stated.
Nanonation has built up a tremendous track record over more than 25 years of delivering very successful digital experiences supported by award-winning design and software architecture. We support worldwide deployments for Fortune 500 clients as well as interactive experiences for single-location clients, so we understand that your business is unique and has specific requirements. We take the time to identify your needs and make sure we can meet them.
This document outlines the product’s scope, Nanonation’s responsibilities, the Customer’s responsibilities, assumptions, an estimated timeline, as well as the costs associated with this project. Any changes to this this document will be handled through the change control process.
If a service is not listed here, it is not considered part of this project.
This SOW is intended solely for the Customer and Nanonation. As such, it cannot be distributed to anyone who is not directly involved in the project without express written consent of both parties.
Project Scope
Nanonation will build the City of San Clemente (City) a product touch application like what was implemented at the City of Irvine, including the ability to post and browse multi page PDF documents, in compliance with The Brown Act for agendas and minutes. The application will have the look and feel of the screenshots below. Nanonation will use colors, logos, and fonts provided by the City to create a unique design of the application.
The City will meet with our project management and design team to review designs for the application. The application will have the available views built in our interactive product. Please see screenshots below for examples of the views available. The views can be built, ordered, and used as many times and go as many levels deep as the City wishes allowing for unlimited possibilities for the application.
Below are examples of the hardware and content screenshots included in the product:

ATTRACT LOOP
The Attract Loop is the series of images and videos that will play before a user touches the screen to begin the experience.

CONTENT CHANGES
The content (end points) of your application can be
updated from anywhere you have an Internet connection.
The update method is via Nanonation’s content
management system, Commandpoint.
As your layout is created, we recommend keeping the
depth of the layout within 3-4 touches for any endpoint.
LANDING PAGE
• The Landing Page is the first page the user will see after touching the screen. • This page can have up to three Main Buttons and up to four Bonus Buttons. • The Bonus Buttons have the same capabilities as the Main Buttons, but do not feature a background image. An example of this can be seen below.
SUB PAGE
• The Sub Page is the page the user will see after clicking a button on the Landing Page. The Sub Page is a navigational view between the Landing Page and your Endpoint.
Proprietary and Confidential Page | 6 Nanonation, Inc.
• This page can have up to 9 buttons. If you have more buttons you wish to display, they will be accessible by scrolling to the right with an arrow.
ENDPOINT
• The Endpoint of the experience is the place where your content lives. The endpoints are managed through Commandpoint.
• This is the point in the experience where text, photos, videos (Gallery View only), etc. will be viewed. There are several ways that this content can be displayed in what are called “views”:
➢ The Gallery View
➢ Hybrid View
➢ Web Browser View
➢ PDF View
Proprietary and Confidential Page | 7 Nanonation, Inc.
ENDPOINT: WEB BROWSER VIEW
• This view allows you to launch a webpage or a hosted PDF document. • A whitelist / blacklist feature is available to allow / restrict access to specific sites. • The Web Browser View has standard controls:
➢ Back
➢ Forward
➢ Home
➢ Refresh
➢ Stop
Custom Features
Finally, to comply with ADA recommendations, Nanonation will provide a feature where a user can toggle the screen and provide all touch point interactives on the bottom third of the screen, allowing for those in wheelchairs the ability to fully navigate the kiosk from a lower height.
VIDEO MEDIA SPECIFICATIONS
• For best performance, video should be encoded as .WMV files • There are dozens of different conversion tools that can be used to format the files. It does not matter what program is used to convert a video or which program was used to create the original video files as long as the final step is to convert to a .WMV file. • The Bit Rate for videos should be between 4-6.5 MB/second (4000-6500 KB/Second) Proprietary and Confidential Page | 8 Nanonation, Inc.
• Not every video encoding program gives you fine control of the bit rate. If you do not see bit rate as a setting you can directly manipulate, look for quality. It is not critical that it be exactly to specification but do not go significantly under or over the recommended rates. • Ideally use the WMP v9 (VC-1 Simple/Main) Codec for .WMV’s • Not every video encoding program gives you fine control of the codec used. This is not a critical requirement however if your tool of choice allows this codec it will improve performance.
• Note: Due to the history of design tools being primarily used on Mac computers, most professional animation programs do not offer an option to export directly to .WMV. One exception is After Effects running in a windows environment; however, there is no need to spend thousands of dollars on software & hardware. The conversion from most modern formats (.MOV, .MP4, .MPEG, .AVI) to a .WMV is a very quick process available on several converter programs such as:
• VLC, QuickTime 7 with the ‘Flip4Mac’ plug-in, Video Monkey
