DEFINITION
Under general direction, serves as the City’s primary administrator and subject matter expert for the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS); performs highly responsible and advanced administrative, analytical, technical, and program management duties related to the strategic oversight, governance, optimization, integration, and long-term administration of the City’s CMMS program.

Oversees system functionality, asset hierarchy integrity, workflow development, data governance, reporting, user standards, and operational continuity to ensure the CMMS effectively supports Citywide maintenance, asset management, infrastructure planning, and operational objectives. Provides leadership in the development, enhancement, implementation, and continuous improvement of CMMS-related policies, procedures, and enterprise practices.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
This is the advanced specialist and program administrator classification responsible for enterprise-level oversight of the City’s Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Positions in this classification exercise substantial independent judgment and technical expertise in the administration, configuration, governance, optimization, and strategic advancement of the City’s CMMS platform.

This classification is distinguished from CMMS Coordinator in that the CMMS Administrator serves as the City’s principal authority for long-term CMMS governance, system integrity, operational continuity, integration strategy, and program development. While the CMMS Coordinator primarily supports program coordination, data population, user support, and operational implementation, the CMMS Administrator is responsible for broader system ownership, strategic direction, advanced configuration, enterprise standards, process optimization, and long-range sustainability of the CMMS environment.

This classification may provide technical direction, project leadership, and functional supervision to CMMS support staff, departmental users, or assigned personnel.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED
Receives direction from the Principal Civil Engineer/Asset Manager or assigned executive or management staff.

May exercise technical and functional supervision over lower-level staff, project teams, or departmental CMMS users.
