Public testimony by Alfonzo Hernandez, George Ching, Cesar Javier, Clifford Weiler, Michael Aguirre, Maria Severson, Joy Sunyata, Mat Kostrinksy, Karen Rusin, Ken Hoxie, Helen Antoniak, Lori Saldaña, Blair Beekman, unknown caller, and Kathleen Lippitt.

City Clerk Fuentes closed the hearing.

City Clerk Diana Fuentes stated based on information provided by the Environmental Services Department 113,185 protests would represent 50 percent plus 1 of parcels on the proposed solid waste management fee tax report. Including the protests to the solid waste management fee, and objections and protests to the report received at this hearing and in writing prior to the hearing, the City Clerk’s Office received a total of 46,479 protests against the report, the adoption of which would authorize collection of the solid waste management fee on the tax roll.

Without reviewing or authenticating any objections or protests and assuming that they are all valid and are not duplicates, we can clearly say that the number of protests lodged with the City Clerk’s Office is clearly below the threshold of 50 percent plus 1.
