Mayor, Council, City Attorney, Independent Budget Analyst, City Clerk Comment:

CC-1: Councilmember Moreno encouraged everyone working in Downtown San Diego to support local businesses—such as restaurants, cafés, and Joey the Shoe Shine Guy—during the federal closure. She noted that many downtown establishments are struggling and urged City employees and others to dine locally, emphasizing that now is a good time to help out.

CC-2: Council President LaCava welcomed a group of San Diego State University students attending the meeting to observe government in action, expressing hope that they would gain a positive impression of the Council’s work.

City Clerk Fuentes invited everyone to the City Administration Building lobby to celebrate National LGBTQ History Month and National Archives Month. She stated the exhibition is open from October 15 to November 5. City Clerk Fuentes mentioned the exhibit highlights San Diego’s vibrant LGBTQ history—from early activism and cultural milestones to AIDS awareness and modern achievements. The collaborative exhibit, presented by the LGBTQ Historic Task Force, Lambda Archives of San Diego, The San Diego History Center, and the San Diego Museum Council, features rare artifacts, photographs, and personal stories celebrating decades of resilience, creativity, and community leadership.

Report Out from Closed Session:

None.

Council President LaCava adjourned the meeting at 3:49 p.m. in honor of the memory of:
