Mayor, Council, City Attorney, Independent Budget Analyst, City Clerk Comment:

CC-1: Councilmember Elo-Rivera thanked the San Diego Food Bank and Feeding San Diego for stepping up and helping those in need. He shared that there are over 400,000 in San Diego seeing significant reductions to their food benefits. Councilmember Elo-Rivera stated there is a significant amount of need and anyone who can contribute will be ensuring that families don’t go hungry.

City Clerk Fuentes shared that her office will be hosting a series of Community Listening Sessions to support a community engagement survey over the next several months. She mentioned these sessions are an opportunity for us to talk directly with the community about how City Council meetings work, how they can access agendas and public records, and most importantly, how we can make it easier for everyone to participate in their local government. City Clerk Fuentes stated our goal is simple: to listen and learn. She invited everyone to join the first session on November 5, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. virtually at www.sandiego.gov/listening or in person at the Logan Heights Library. City Clerk Fuentes asked everyone to visit sandiego.gov/engagement to take the survey, obtain the virtual link for the listening session, and stay up to date on this topic. She noted that together we can strengthen communication, expand access, and shape the future of our City.

Report Out from Closed Session:

None.

Council President LaCava adjourned the meeting at 4:30 p.m. in honor of the memory of:

Julio Deguzman as requested by Councilmember von Wilpert.
