(Members of the audience are invited to address the City Council on any item on this agenda. Public comment will not be taken during each individual agenda item, except for public hearing items.
Comments on public hearing items will be heard when that item is scheduled for discussion. Under the provisions of the Brown Act, the legislative body is prohibited from engaging in discussion on any item not appearing on the posted agenda. However, your concerns may be referred to staff or set for discussion at a later date. Each speaker will be limited to speaking once for up to (3) three minutes.)
DISCUSSION ITEM
1. Adopt Resolution 2026-19 to Appoint Emmett G. Badar to the Office of Mayor, Eric Nakano Councilmember to the Office of City Councilmember, District 2, Ryan A. Vienna to the Office of Councilmember, District 4 and Canceling the June 2, 2026, Election Due to Only One Person Being Nominated for Each of the Offices of Mayor, Councilmember District 2 and Councilmember District 4
RECOMMENDATION:

City staff recommends that the City Council:
• Adopt Resolution 2026-19, appointing Emmett G. Badar for the office of Mayor for a full term of two years, Eric Nakano for Councilmember in District 2 and Ryan A.
Vienna for Councilmember in District 4 for full four year terms in lieu of an election, and canceling the June 2, 2026 Election, pursuant to California Elections Code Section 10229.
