SPECIAL MEETING OF THE SAN GABRIEL CITY COUNCIL
CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Ding called the special meeting of the San Gabriel City Council to order at 5:36 P.M. on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, in the Council Chamber at City Hall, 425 South Mission Drive, San Gabriel, California, 91776.

Chief City Clerk Clark provided information for the public on how to view the meeting and how to request meeting agendas.
1. STUDY SESSION
A. ROLE OF THE CITY COUNCIL IN AN EMERGENCY AND DISASTER OPERATIONS Fire Chief Wallace and Soraya Sutherlin, Disaster Management Area Coordinator, Area "C," made the presentation.
Debbie Kilgore, resident, posed questions about City staff communications during an emergency and made suggestions about emergency provisions.
Discussion included the City's response to past disasters; involving City commissioners in disaster planning; multi-lingual communication during emergencies; mutual-aid provisions; pro-active efforts by Southern California Edison to mitigate transformer-fire hazards in the City and coordination with City staff and residents; a possible future study session on this topic; and planned tabletop training exercises.
