The 100 and 200 blocks of Gerona Avenue are residential streets lined with Camphor Trees on both sides of the street, creating a large canopy over the middle of the street. B. FUNDING FOR THE SAN GABRIEL CHAMBER OF COMMERCE IN THE AMOUNT OF $23,000
City Council Regular Meeting Agenda – September 5, 2023 8 For many years, the City has supported the San Gabriel Chamber of Commerce (Chamber) financially and through a variety of joint efforts that promote San Gabriel businesses. Though the City and Chamber continue to serve the business community, the City has not provided any funds to the Chamber as it did prior to 2020. Recently, the Chamber requested the City purchase a Presidential Circle Membership for $23,000. The timely request aligned with discussion of the City’s Fiscal Year 2023-2024 operating budget. This report examines the historical relationship between the City and the Chamber that culminates to the most recent request, includes other Cities’ contract amounts with their respective Chambers as points of reference, and presents several options for the City Council to consider in this matter.
California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Determination: Not a Project as defined in Section 15378 of the State CEQA Guidelines.
City Council Options:
The following are options for the City Council regarding this matter:
