SPECIAL MEETING OF THE SAN GABRIEL CITY COUNCIL
CALL TO ORDER
Vice Mayor Wu called the special meeting of the San Gabriel City Council to order at 5:04 P.M. on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, in the Council Chamber at City Hall, 425 South Mission Drive, San Gabriel, California, 91776.
CITY ATTORNEY ANNOUNCEMENT
Assistant City Attorney Koczanowicz announced that Mayor Harrington would not be attending the meeting due to a COVID exposure and the City's inability to meet the technical requirements required by recent legislation for his remote participation.

Assistant City Clerk Bonus provided information for the public on how to view the meeting and how to request meeting agendas.
PUBLIC COMMENT
1. INTERVIEWS AND APPOINTMENTS TO THE HUMAN EQUITY ACCESS, AND
RELATIONS (HEAR) COMMISSION
City Manager Lazzaretto presented options for the City Council's consideration related to the number of members on the Commission.
Discussion included reducing the number of Commissioners from seven members to five members; allow for non-residents to become a Commissioner; and changing the two-year term start and end dates from February 1 to January 31 to June 1 to May 31 to be in line with the other Commissions.
Interviews of the following applicants were conducted: Amanda Andrade, Darwin Rodriguez, Michelle Brenhaug, and Viki Goto.
A comment was received from Jeanne Raya, resident, requesting that the Council continue to keep the Commission size at seven members.

The following were appointed to two-year terms from February1, 2024 - January 31, 2026: Amanda Andrade, Michelle Brenhaug, and Viki Goto.
