SUBJECT: Appropriation for Estudillo Mansion Flooring Repair RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that the City Council authorize the appropriation of $4,760 for the purchase and installation of new flooring in the Estudillo Mansion kitchen, dining room porch, bathroom, and hall areas.
DISCUSSION:
The Estudillo Mansion Docents have reported to the City Manager that the flooring in the kitchen, dining room porch, bathroom and hall areas of the mansion need replacement.
The current flooring is linoleum that has discolored and become damaged over time through natural wear and aging. The proposed new flooring would match other wood flooring within the mansion and would maintain the aesthetic and historic nature of the mansion.
Since the request is above and beyond the scope of the caretaking and minor repairs that the Docents have long since agreed and adhered to, the City Manager is requesting that the City Council approve the request.
The Docents researched replacement costs and have presented a quote of $4,760 for the cost of the flooring repairs.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The total estimated cost for the flooring repairs is $4,760. The cost includes supplies, installation and labor. Approval would increase the budget of Account #010-6500-425.33-10 (R&MBuilding) in the General Fund.
