Subject: Please vote to waive the Food Pantry permit fee for Lighthouse Ministries You don't often get email from Learn why this is important Dear City Clerk and Council members -
I live just a few blocks from the Lighthouse Ministries food pantry at N. 17th and Julian.
I was pleased to learn that Mayor Liccardo and Councilman Raul Peralez have proposed waiving special-use permitting fees to cover costs of this vital resource during the pandemic.
I live just a few blocks from the food pantry, and have been impressed when passing by to see how vital and how greatly appreciated this resource has been to this part of San Jose. I urge the entire City Council to support the waiving of the exorbitant cost of this permit to enable Lighthouse to continue to serve some of the most vulnerable members of our community when it comes up for a vote.
Thank you for valuing human dignity, compassion and community over governmental bureaucracy.
