I have been a caregiver for over 15
years, working with seniors all over the Bay Area who all have different needs. I have gained a lot of knowledge and the necessary skills on how to care for them at home and out in public. I believe with these I am able to share my thoughts and concerns regarding the senior community.
What is your understanding of the purpose of the Commission? The Commission evaluates and makes reccomendations to the city council on issues that affect the elderly people in the city.
Issues related to health, education, employment, housing, transportation.

1. Cost of living
- seniors are not able to afford housing due to the increased cost of living 2. Elderly Care - not enough funding to assist them with their homecare needs 3. Climate Change - heat waves affect them , there needs to be more cooling centres that are accesible Question applies to

What is a major issue facing San José’s older adults and what do you see as the Commission’s role in this issue?
Homecare help especially for those who live alone or have chronic health issues and need more care but dont have enough finance to pay for homecare help.
Transportation services
- having more accesible uber
cars or for those who arent tech savy maybe a service that only caters to seniors who need to be transported to the Dr or maybe just a ride around the town for recreation or even just to be dropped off at the senior centre. They can pay a monthly subscription for this car service or something the city could assist with.

What makes you knowledgeable about senior issues in the community? I have worked for over 15 years as a private caregiver for senior citizens in their homes before starting my own agency where I encounter many different seniors with different needs.
I would like to say . . .
That I have a passion for helping the elderly and I have a lot of empathy for them . Being a caregiver I have to multitask and also be a quick thinker on how I can assist them safely and efficiently.
I am
committed to every group and organizations I have been a member of and I believe my knowledge and experience is vital to assist the Commission with issues related to our senior citizens.
